Our grandfather Monappa Hegde had a dream. A dream to live around nature surrounded by greenery and the sound of birds. Building on his dream, we intend to give our guests unforgettable memories of a life in a beautiful farmhouse right in the middle of a private plantation.
From the rolling hills to dramatic mountains to river Sita flowing along the property, coconut trees to arecanut plantation, water lily pond to bird watching, your stay at Monappa Estate will be truly spectacular. Our farmhouse has been inspired by traditional Manglorean architecture. The rooms are decorated in a luxe yet unpretentious style that’s at once contemporary and historically informed.
We do have TV, WIFI but we would love for you to engage with the natural surrounding and environment. Sit on the verandah, enjoy the view, meditate, read, exercise, do yoga, survey the grounds of the estate and the jungle beyond and relax.
The traditional courtyard and verandah may be best place to relax but there is nothing like going to the terrace and getting a 360 degree green view during the day, watch the sunset in the evening and star gaze at night. Expect to see a lot of birds, peacocks and if you are lucky enough, deers and other animals.
Monappa Estate is about being authentic, yet comfortable and in a setting which is natural and truly beautiful. We haven’t changed anything in terms of the surrounding and we would love for our guests to relax and rejuvenate in a truly sustainable environment.
Location
The farmhouse is in Hebri, in the middle of a private estate giving you incredible privacy and peace, making it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. What makes it even more amazing, is the Sita River which passes alongside the property.
